During the interior remodel at 901 Congress Avenue, steel planters were designed for three different levels of the building. Shop fabricated, primed and painted, with insulation at the interior, the planters were then lifted into place and leveled to house medium and vegetation. Later, the general contractor installed paving around the planters for a clean walking surface at each deck. The planters provide the means to enclose vegetation and allow greenery and a sound barrier for exterior spaces above a noisy street-scape.
